Welcome to our Online Poker League
2009 WSOP Main Event
We are currently accepting registrations for our public online poker league.
There is no membership fee and anyone from the US can join. We are looking for
players who can commit to playing at least one tournament a week from now until
July. The purpose of the league is to send one lucky person to the 2009 WSOP
$10,000 Main Event in Vegas next July. The total cash goal would be the $10,000
buy-in and $2,000 spending cash.
Our POINT SYSTEM is as follows:
1 pt for each dollar of buy-in; example 1: $10 buy-in = 10 pts
example 2: $20 buy-in = 20 pts
1 pt for your place of finish; example: 1st place in 40 player tourney = 40 pts
Example of points earned in a 40 player tourney with a $10 buy-in:
1st = 40 pts for place + 10 pts for buy-in = 50 pts
2nd = 39 pts for place + 10 pts for buy-in = 49 pts
3rd = 38 pts for place + 10 pts for buy-in = 48 pts
40th = 1 pt for place + 10 pts for buy-in = 11 pts
Play / No pay = 0 pts
We will play one or two tournaments a week from now until July, which would be
about 36 weeks, hence 36 tournaments. The buy-in for each tournament will be
in the form of a small ranking fee along with the tournament buy-in if not a
freeroll. Weekly tournaments should add about $400 to the league account. $400
times 36 tournaments equals $14,400. This leaves room in case people leave the
league or fail to pay and play in all tournaments. All-in-All you'll invest about
$400 by the end of the season. That's not a bad investment to try to win a $12,000
trip to the 2009 WSOP.
The player or players with the most accumulated points at the end of the season
will be sent to Las Vegas to participate in the 2009 WSOP Main Event. Keep in mind
that the player or players who win the trip do not win the accumulated prize money.
The money belongs to everyone in the league. The players win the privilege to attend
the WSOP on behalf on the league and any money won at the WSOP will be
distributed among the members depending on how much they contributed to the
league account. If one player wins we all win. ALL FOR ONE! ONE FOR ALL!
If there is extra cash in the account at the end of the season we have the option to
send a second player to participate in a smaller tournament including a satellite
to the main event.
If we are not able to raise enough cash for the main event we have the option to
send one or several players to attend smaller tournaments, including satellites to
the main event.
Currently, we play online at Full Tilt Poker and Carbonpoker.
